Donald Kushner


Junction Films CEO Donald Kushner is a proven Hollywood producer. His films have grossed over $1 Billion in worldwide box office. His track record includes over 100 feature motion pictures and more than 40 TV movies, miniseries and network series. He has worked extensively with such companies as Walt Disney, Sony, Lionsgate, Paramount, Fox, Warner Bros, New Line Cinema, HBO and Showtime. Kushner also helped launch the careers of Renée Zellweger, Reese Witherspoon and director Patty Jenkins.

Kushner produced and developed the film, MONSTER, starring Charlize Theron, and garnered both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2003. Kushner also produced the film TRON, which was nominated for two Academy Awards and its sequel, TRON LEGACY, which was nominated of an Academy Award. TRON LEGACY is distributed by Disney and recently grossed over 400 million worldwide. TRON also currently has an animated television series with worldwide distribution by Disney. THE ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO starring Academy Award winning Martin Landau was distributed by New Line Pictures (a division of Warner Brothers) and ANDRE distributed by Paramount were both box-office hits garnering worldwide grosses of over 40 million each. THE ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO was nominated by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films for Best Film.

Other recent credits include CONVICTION, starring Hilary Swank; BLITZ, starring Jason Statham; FREEWAY starring Reese Witherspoon; THE LAST TIME I COMMITTED SUICIDE starring Keanu Reeves, Adrien Brody, Thomas Jane and Claire Forlani; WHOLE WIDE WORLD starring Rennee Zellweger and Vincent D’Onofrio; SIX WIVES, starring Tim Allen; as well as three films starring Wesley Snipes: HARD LUCK; SEVEN SECONDS; and THE MARKSMAN. Kushner’s TV credits include: AUTOMAN, 1ST & TEN and SWEATING BULLETS as well as numerous TV Movies. Kushner produced THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER, which was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Animated Program, spun 2 sequels and is currently being remade into a live action film.

Currently in production: FEAR OF FLYING, an adaptation of a classic novel by Eric Jong, which sold over 29 million books. Sony Pictures is distributing. Also SILVER OR LEAD, the story of the drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. The film is directed by Enrique Urbizu to be distributed by Relativity Media (FAST AND THE FURIOUS, IMMORTALS, AND THE MUMMY franchise. Also in production, an IMAX film PANDAS IN THE WILD shot on location in China and distributed by Warner Brothers.

Prior to founding Junction Films, Kushner was Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Kushner-Locke Company from 1980 to 2002 and also co chairman of US Kushner-Locke was a leading publicly traded (NASDAQ) entertainment company, whose products included television programs and films.

Kushner is also CEO, Co-Owner and Co-Chairman of Hollywood’s historic TCL Chinese Theatre and The Chinese Six.

Additionally, Kushner is Co-Owner of the Two Bunch Palms Resort and Spa in Desert Hot Springs, California in addition to many prominent Hollywood nightclubs, including Lure, Hemingway’s, Roxbury and SupperClub.

Kushner is also a lifelong collector of contemporary art and owns a private art gallery in Malibu, California.
