AL CAPONE’S HiDEOUT FOUND!
Alphonse “Al” Capone (1899 –1947) was a Prohibition-era Chicago gangster, bootlegger and the FBI’s first Public Enemy #1. In the 1920s, Capone allegedly fled to the California town of Desert Hot Springs to escape the FBI “heat” back home in Chicago. It was perhaps the isolation, as much as the desert air and healing waters at Two Bunch, that convinced gangster Al Capone to build his desert getaway on this land a quarter of a century later. He installed underground bunkers to hid in should the sentry in the tower spot the dusty trail of an approaching lawman.
